Drove UX improvements for increased donor engagement, raising highest funds to the date

Role
User Experience and Engagement Strategist, Stakeholder Analysis, UX Researcher, Data Visualization, Prototyping, Usability Testing
Design Goal
The goal with this capstone project was to create user interaction strategies to increase the organizations reach in the Seattle community. My team and I conducted extensive research to derive its impact so far which drove us to design interactive artefacts for their annual luncheon event aiming at raising funding.

Understanding TIPS structure and capturing stories
Conducted interviews with 11+ alumni, Founder family and TIPS's staff including executive director, project developer and board members
I learnt more about TIPS's journey and how it has served its mission over the years. These interviews helped me analyse the best opportunity spaces to provide solutions to through my team's efforts.
Key Insights From User Interviews
Conducting interviews with alumni helped me observe common themes that began to emerge, proving TIPS's role in shaping the young mindset of the Seattle community.
These insights helped us develop a new-age narrative for the organization.

Opportunity Spaces
After gaining a fair understanding of the organization's impact on their community and interns, my team and I brainstormed opportunity spaces to best highlight their impact and success stories.

A platform where teenagers can connect with TIPS's alumni network and learn from their experiences is missing. This bridge can help the youth leverage their community to gain guidance and grow.
Celebration of Service

TIPS's current website lacks the power to grasp its audience's attention and inform them about its impact stories and how it has empowered teenagers into future leaders.
Website enhancement

TIPS receives a majority of its funding through its Fall annual fundraiser event. The easiest way to convey TIPS's efforts to its target audience- donors and sponsors is through this event.

We decided to pivot
While we ambitiously began brainstorming and ideating across all these opportunity spaces, we soon realized that we needed to focus and zero down on one problem space considering the timelines and goals.
I recognized the most impactful opportunity was to maximize the organization's funding through its annual fundraising event.
Aim for 2024 funding - $ 245,000
Funds Raised- $250,000 (highest in their history)
Developed a human-size version of the classic game of Tetris!
Players become shapes and teamwork is the way to success.
Research
Result- Identifies ways to highlight their impact and effective storytelling
Competitor analysis- quanitfy and demostrate imapct by TIPS and better storytelling

Evolve TIPS narrative to effectively highlight its value and impact, aiming to boost fundraising and help donors understand how they are contributing to the society through TIPS.
Theory of change and our suggested problem/opp space
Pushing some artistic constraints and making this event less corporate. Adding user interactions- the hero has to be the stories and people remember things when their interaction with it is memorable.
Narrowing scope to Luncheon- Digital Timeline, SS, Care package, Mural, Micro interactions
User Testing & Insights
Storyboarding- 5E's- Entice Enter Engage Exit Extend
Design systems- color typo brand
Video making to help client and stakeholders visualize event- scripting and yt video
Execution- constraints, budget, etc.
Ongoing steps- luncheon additional pg on website for stories, transforming from touchscreen monitor to video loop, designing new micro-interactions
